Mohammed Omar and his family need your help to survive Gaza’s crisis
France
My friend Mohammed Omar is 23 years old. He is an exceptionally courageous and mature young man who carries the weight of his entire family of seven on his shoulders. Despite his young age, he has become the sole supporter of his elderly parents and siblings. I have never seen anyone so brave, willing to take great risks, even risking his own life, to provide for those he loves.
The Omar family has lost everything. Their home was bombed, and today they live in a fragile tent among the ruins. Moreover, a violent bombing destroyed his aunt’s house, killing his extended family, neighbors, and friends. The pain is immense, the grief constant.
They have already been displaced three times. They live under the relentless rhythm of bombings and forced moves, cut off from everything, unable to meet their basic needs because there is no work.
Mohammed had many dreams, including continuing his studies. He had just started university when his life collapsed. Today, his fight is different: to afford a solid shelter, food, water, essential medicine, and resources to rebuild their lives.
Life in Gaza is extremely expensive. For example, a 25 kg bag of flour now costs up to $500, twenty times more than before the war. The price of bread has increased more than sixfold. Eggs sell between $30 and $73 per dozen, up to 20 times more expensive. Sugar reaches $80 per kilo, twenty-five times its previous price. Tomatoes, essential to the diet, cost up to $18 per kilo. These prices make daily survival unbearable.
I now share a few words from Mohammed himself, because only he can truly convey what he is living through…
Hello everyone, this is Mohammed from Gaza.
Before the war, I had a simple life, dreams, and plans. I had just started university, ready to build a future. But all of that was destroyed in an instant.
Today, I fight every day to protect my family. Every day is a struggle to find food, water, medicine, and safe shelter for my family.
I feel like I’m living in an open-air prison. The situation is extremely difficult; there is no work. Until now, I always managed to find money on my own, but today I have no choice. Our life now depends entirely on your donations. Honestly, it is very hard for me to ask for help.
I want to give my brothers and sisters the chance to grow up and build their lives far from this seemingly endless war. Imagine my pain every night, hearing my 10-year-old little brother cry because his stomach is empty.
Every donation, every gesture counts to help us survive and rebuild what we have lost. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support ❤️
It is our responsibility today to help them hold on.
All donations go directly to Muhammad Omar’s family with full transparency and integrity.
